From a young age, boys accompany their fathers on hunting expeditions, where they have fun with small animals and acquire the skills to one day become independent and hunt for themselves and their families. Jungle creatures are part of the diet and are skilfully hunted with spears and arrows.

The Yanomami, once in the Parima Mountains, now reside in valleys due to historical invasions. They have a population of about 38,000, with three primary languages. In 1990, Mirella Ricciardi supported their territory demarcation, which was achieved in 1992. In 2022, a new mining invasion caused a humanitarian tragedy surpassing the challenges of 1990.
