Some photographs only reveal themselves in person — the depth of a silver gelatin black, the scale of a 40″ print, the surface of a hand-coloured work.

The archive opens its doors to collectors, curators and friends of the work for private viewings. See fine art prints from Vanishing Africa and Vanishing Amazon up close, browse works that never appear online, and hear the stories behind the photographs from the family that keeps them.

Visits are by appointment. Whether you are considering a particular work, building a collection, or simply want to spend an hour with the photographs, you are welcome — tell us what you would like to see and we will prepare the room accordingly.

If you have works saved in a list, mention it — viewing your own selection in print is the best way to choose between editions.
