The beadwork embodies the Maasai culture, representing beauty, tradition, strength and sometimes even social status. The Maasai from northern Tanzania mostly wear white beads, representing purity and the milk of a goat or cow.
The nomadic and pastoralist Maasai people are a Nilotic ethnic group inhabiting southern Kenya and northern Tanzania along the Great Rift Valley on semi-arid and arid lands.
