For Morans, this shaving is a very sad moment, having to cut their long braided hair which has been their source of pride and power. This rite of passage after the Eunoto ceremony ends their warrior- hood. The Eunoto is the second public ceremony that a Maasai man passes in his lifetime.
The nomadic and pastoralist Maasai people are a Nilotic ethnic group inhabiting southern Kenya and northern Tanzania along the Great Rift Valley on semi-arid and arid lands.
