Luiza (Yove) had the most beautiful face of all the people I photographed. Women are responsible for creating pottery, a craft at which the Marubo are known to be masters. The pots are made of clay seasoned with the ash burnt from tree bark; their shapes are obtained with the pressure of the hand and a piece of gourd.
