Valdina (Yove), Eunice (Peko), and Elisa Tsainama (Kena) soon took to me. They wanted me to photograph them with their beads. This created a feeling of empathy between us. The Marubo are divided into nine clans originating from mythological heroes; they are known to intermarry with other Marubo clans.
