Tribes
Samburu
“The Samburu are friendly people..they are nomads and live much as their cattle do. A branch of the Maasai, they have very much the same customs and physique. Women exist to reproduce; babies, like calves enrich the family. Children are considered a gift from God- the more children, the greater the blessing. The warriors pass their days doing nothing - hanging around preening themselves. They spend hours plaiting their hair and painting their bodies or faces with red ochre.”
